Annual Dinner & Awards Night 2008

I was in the organising committee of this year's NST Annual Dinner & Awards Night, which took place on a Friday two weeks ago.

Was in charge of sponsorship for lucky draw prizes and preparing multimedia presentations for the awards.

It was my first time working on a company annual dinner so I struggled a great deal. I hate organising! Any kind of organising! The only reason I agreed to the job was because I wanted to see if I could do it.

I expected a lot of work, and that was exactly what I got. I actually fell sick on the last day, the day of the event.

But I must say, I was happy with the outcome.

In particular, with how I managed to pull off the multimedia presentations despite tremendous pressure and time constraint. Expectation was high; I was to move to a new multimedia-related department next year and so I considered this my first assignment. Thankfully, I received plenty of support from Leslie, Fred, Kenneth and Agnetha (my MacBook). It would not have been possible without you guys!

I think pretty much everyone had a good time that night.

To top it all off, I won an award that night: for Best Lifestyle Story of the Year for a story that I wrote on telemarketing (a separate committee decided on the awards). Yes, I worked hard on that story and so the recognition was very much appreciated.

I have yet to decide what to do with the RM1,000 prize money.
